
Mr Arunachalam Thiruketheeswaran, the past president of the JHC OBA (UK) has been elected as the president for Tamil Schools Sports Association (UK) – TSSA (UK), formally known as JSSA(UK) for the year 2010.
TSSA(UK) was formed in 1992 by sport enthusiasts from 12 Old Student Associations in the UK. Mr Thiruketheeswaran was one of the founder members and was the founder treasurer in 1992. He was later elected few years as the treasurer and vice president of the organisation.Currently TSSA (UK) has more than 50 member OSA’s of Tamil Schools in Sri Lanka. Each year all the member OSA’s in the UK send two representatives for the AGM to elect the committee to organise sporting competitions between member OSA’s and other Tamil Schools in the UK.
TSSA (UK) organise a Foot Ball Festival on May Bank Holiday Monday and a Cricket & Net ball Festival on August Bank Holiday Monday every year. JHC OBA (UK) cricket team become champions for 8 years including last year.
TSSA (UK) is the only sporting association, organise sports festival for long time in the UK to give a stage for young Tamils in the UK.
JHC OBA (UK) is proud to have Thiruketheeswaran as the president for TSSA (UK) and wish him all the best of luck to organise all the forth coming sporting events.
