Shiva Pasupati, the distinguished old boy Jaffna Hindu had most of his education at Jaffna Hindu College. He graduated in Law at the University of Ceylon and obtained a Post-Graduate Diploma in International Law at the University of Cambridge.
Held the positions of Director of Public Prosecutions, Solicitor- General and finally Attorney-General from 1975 to 1988(the longest period any one has served in that capacity). Appointed President’s Counsel(known as Queen’s Counsel, previous to Sri Lanka becoming a Republic). Appeared in the Privy Council and the Supreme Court in several Constitutional Law cases and important cases before the Full Bench of the Supreme Court.Was President of the Jaffna Hindu College OBA(Colombo). Obtained a grant of Rs.One Million from the President’s Fund for the Science Block of Jaffna Hindu College.
