Mr.Muthiah Thanabalasingham, an old boy of Jaffna Hindu College and father of Matheesan Thananabalasingham (A/L 2013), received the Sri Lanka's highest award, the Kalapoosanam award, for his contribution to music at the 2012 Kalapoosana award ceremony in Colombo on 15th December 2012. Music is in the blood of Matheesan Thananabalasingham too; he is also a singer and a musician and has released a couple of audio albums about our school.
