JHC Prize Day 2011 held yesterday, Prof.Kugabalan was the Chief Guest

JHC Prize day 2011 was held on Wednesday, 23rd November 23, at the Cumaraswamy Hall. Prof.Karthigesu Kugabalan, Professor of Geography at the University of Jaffna, was the chief guest.

As customary, the prize day started with special prayers to our college deity Gnana Vairava Peruman at 3.30 PM. Then the JHC Teachers Guild hosted the chief guest, special guests and invitees for tea. Thereafter, the Chief Guest and his wife were taken on procession with the college band, to Cumaraswamy Hall accompanied by the Principal, his wife, old boys and student leaders.

The prize day's formal stage programs started with prayers and college Anthem sung by students. The Snior Prefect Nanthikaran welcomed everyone.Then the Principal read the annual report for 2010/2011 period, followed by was the Chief Guest's address. Mrs.Kohiladevy Kugabalan distributed the prizes.

Cultural programs by students added colours to the prize day. Jaffna OBA Secretary delivered the vote of thanks. The program came to an end with college song. The guests were hosted for a dinner too.
